Food & wine

Our unique food and wine tours connect you to the region’s most coveted locales and craftsmen for a truly behind-the-scenes experience. Our tastings come alive with the curious stories and culture backing them for centuries.

Ortigueira

Known as La Perla de las Rías Altas, it is located right in the center of the Ortegal region, the northernmost of the Iberian Peninsula. It is characterized by the contrast of virgin and wild landscapes; with valleys and mountains, cliffs and beaches.

The best way to get to know this exuberant nature is on foot, along the Ruta del Borde Litoral de la Ría de Ortigueira or the Camino de la Costa, the last stretch of the Natural Trail of the Cantabrian Route. But there are also many viewpoints accessible by car, such as the well-known Mejor Banco Del Mundo.
Ortigueira is also culture and history. Proof of this are its archaeological remains from the Iron Age and High Medieval times, or the town of Santa Marta itself, with a historic center from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Mugardos

From the Beacon of the castle of ‘La Palma’, located in Mugardos, you can enjoy a moment of peace in a strategic point of the Ría. Soaking up History in one of the enclaves of the so-called “triangle of fire”, entering the Mugardés castle where the coup leader Tejero served time in prison are some of the possibilities offered by the municipality.

The visit can end with a stop at one of the local catering establishments to taste a mugardesa-style octopus tapa and, in case of rain, take shelter from bad weather and observe the views from any of the taverns on the promenade .

Pontedeume

With the Fragas do Eume as its flag and the Torreón de los Andrade as its hallmark, this small town in A Coruña halfway between A Coruña and Ferrol offers, in equal parts, a historical and natural heritage worth discovering. Pontedeume stands out for its medieval historic quarter, its royal stone bridge that welcomes the town and its Torreón de los Andrade, a family that has marked the history of the municipality. The Fragas do Eume Natural Park is one of the most impressive protected natural spaces in Galicia, with its more than 9,000 hectares on the banks of the Eume River. Such is its importance that its fragas are considered one of the best examples of Atlantic forest in all of Europe.
